AUTHOR’S NOTE

Dear Reader, 

My fascination with politics and history finds its influence in my work at the United Nations (2001 to the present) where I have created an NGO (international Cinema Education) to show students foreign films that teach global events.

My interest in film extends to literature with several of my historical novels. They share a style of blending FACT with FICTION to narrate stories in a hybrid fashion. The FACTS in My Friend the Spy, are true, using the politics of Belarus as my central theme. The FICTION, however, is a creation of my imagination, where I interweave fictional characters to events of the day. These literary characters are not based on any living person. They serve as seeds to ignite creativity and emerge as political figures on their own. They are products of my fantasy- all but the narrator- who sometimes resembles me.
